Filming has begun on “Two Christmases, One Lesia”!
Starlight Production, Green Light Films and Novyi Kanal have begun work on the new festive comedy “Two Christmases, One Lesia”, which will be released in cinemas on 1 January 2027.
It is a story about choosing between simple human happiness and a life that looks perfect on Instagram. On Christmas Eve, the main character gets a chance to see what her life could have been like if she had chosen a different path 14 years ago.
💬 Yurii Mykulenko, creator and showrunner:
“This is a story about ‘deferred life syndrome’ and constantly wondering ‘what if?’. Our film reminds us that happiness should not be postponed, regardless of the circumstances.”
💬 Olena Antonova, the film’s producer and Head of Studio 1 at Starlight Production:
“It was initially planned as a four-part series, but we realised that this story deserved the big screen. I also believe that Christmas comedy is exactly the kind of genre audiences need right now, even though there is so much drama around us. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, I felt that people who know how to enjoy life, create a positive atmosphere and bring laughter despite everything would also find comfort in our entertainment projects.”
Lesia Nikitiuk stars in the leading role. The cast also includes Volodymyr Kravchuk, Irma Vitovska, Yakiv Kucherevskyi, Yevhenii Lisnychyi, Oleksandr Sokolov, Yevheniia Miakenka, Vitalii Salii and others.
Audiences can also look forward to a special Christmas musical surprise. An original track is being created for the film in collaboration with a very famous Ukrainian artist. Their identity is being kept secret for now, but the creators promise genuine “shock content” in the best possible sense.
